Well, here it is.....the start of my attempt at blogging. Call it a New Year's resolution, but I'm just one of those creatures who needs some kind of arbitrary beginning point (like Jan. 1) as an impetus to begin a new project. I initially looked into My Space, but felt a little bit old (sigh) for that community, and after taking a look at my friend Kim Morrow's site, this seemed a more comfortable format.
The new year rang in at the Haase house with the usual fanfare. Actually, this was the return of our annual New Year's Eve Bash as we skipped last year due to the installation of the new wood floors and my inability to put the house back together in time for a houseful of company. But, by popular demand, this year we managed to amass large amounts of food and drink and fill the house with an abundance of friends and children for a party that lasted well past 1:00 a.m. We had an interesting Trivial Pursuit - Totally 80's Edition tournament, and lots of good fun and conversation. Today we are recovering. Jacob and his friend Austin (who stayed behind after his parents left last evening :) didn't manage to join the living until about 1:00 p.m., and Darrell, Sylvie and I have been running at slow speed most of the day.
Tomorrow is back to work, although the kids are still out of school until next Monday. Jacob will have basketball practices Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and then we'll be back into full swing with our crazy schedule next week. I'm hopeful that this blog will help me to be more intentional about keeping up with journaling and picture taking. I'll certainly try to update and post on a regular basis.
